Part-time Seasonal Retail Sales Associate
Overview:
A Seasonal Retail Associate helps customers find merchandise and purchase products in our Historic Valley Junction storefront. Duties include ensuring the store is appropriately stocked with merchandise, assisting customers as needed, providing customer education about our products and processes, and performing accurate sales transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
A Part-Time Seasonal Retail Sales Associate is responsible for handling various sales activities in our retail store, including facilitating purchases and providing customer service. Basic daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Greeting customers when they walk through the door
- Informing customers about products and product details, including product suggestions
- Preparing online orders for shipment and sending them
- Building customer rapport through conversation and honest recommendations
- Ringing up sales, pulling online orders, and fulfilling pickup orders
- Assisting with holiday events and sales
- Inviting customers to the company’s website to join Email Club or buy online
- Informing customers about our programs and upcoming products and collections
- Assisting in maintaining the stock room and setting up merchandise displays on the sales floor
- Helping to keep the shop clean and organized at all times
- Helping to label, inventory and display products
- Other similar duties as assigned
Personal Attributes:
- Self-starter with ability to effectively manage time and multi-task
- High attention to detail with the ability to convey information clearly and understandably to multiple audiences
- Natural eye for design and willingness to display merchandise creatively
- Can maintain a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers at all times
- Enjoy engaging customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products
- Are confident and comfortable to resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive and memorable customer experience
- Provide customers with courteous, fast, friendly, and efficient service
Requirements:
- Must be able to operate a computer, cell phone, camera, and printer
- Should have 1-3 years of previous retail, or related, experience
- A personal interest in skincare products a plus
- Must be able to drive and have reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with customers
- Must be willing to learn product information and accurately convey it to customers
- Must be willing to work solo while self-managing tasks and facilitating all retail operations
Hours:
(13 - 15 hours per week)
Friday & Saturday - 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Sunday - 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Wage/Benefits:
$15 per hour
